Prospective Students
We encourage prospective and incoming students with any interest in joining the team to reach out to us. Gauging interest for the upcoming seasons allows us to make early accommodations for an influx of riders. We would love to get to know you, tell you about the team, and help prepare you for collegiate style riding.
Attending a VIP Campus Tour, SOAR Freshman Orientation, or Transfer Orientation? A team member can meet with you during your visit! Take a tour of the stables and learn more about the equestrian team at Tennessee Tech. There may be an opportunity to observe lessons depending on the day and time of your visit. Please contact us prior to your visit so we know to expect you!
The Tennessee Tech University Equestrian Team is a club team and does not recruit athletes for slots or funding. Members do not need to have riding experience or own a horse to participate. While the team does not have tryouts, an evalulatory private lesson may be required to ensure proper group placement in the lesson schedule, for those wishing to ride.
Our first event of the school year is the TTU Mix & Mingle Involvement Fair the week before the start of fall classes. This is typically when new students join the team. A new member information meeting is held the first week of classes covering the schedule, participation, expectations, and cost. Team dues are not due until the September meeting, so there is plenty of time to decide if the team is right for you!
While most students join the team in the beginning of the school year, there is no deadline to join the team. Showing opportunities and lesson availability may be limited mid-semester, but we do not discourage anyone from participating.
Please fill out our Team Interest Form if you are a prospective, incoming, or current student interested in joining or learning more about the Tennessee Tech University Equestrian Team!
